Pointless Things
Why do people install air conditioners if they have little or no intention of using them??? The installation fee alone makes it all very silly. It's all well and good to complain however, but is there a solution??? I say yes there is. For people who live in a fairly mild climate where the temperatures in each season are quite bareable, air conditioning really isn't necessary. Even in Australia, surely there is a cheaper way of staying cool during our blistering heat and keeping warm during the windy colder months without having to spend a lot of money.
I propose vests. Not just any vests however...ones like I've heard about on TV. I think the fire brigade also might use them...but I want to revolutionise them. Think about it...a lightweight piece of clothing with small tubes running throughout...all attached to an electrical current of sorts (kind of like the principals of a water bed). The elctrical current should come from some form of rechargeable battery which can be plugged in like a mobile phone so it should be possible to even wear it sleeping. On the electrical part of the vest (which should be inside the vest and not bulky and maybe touch screen or squishy buttons) there should be temperature controls that are restricted to ensure that nobody cooks or freezes themselves to death. VOILA!!!
I found a web site that is already marketing the same sort of product... you can look at it here: http://www.coolsport.net/index2.html
So there you go Jono...not quite an explanation for people installing air conditioning and not using it...but a cheaper, portable solution to ever needing to use it again!!!
Please feel free to comment with your questions and I will endevour to search every corner of my mind to find an answer.

haha Well Well now that cool be cool (or warm depending on the climate :-P) I think those vests were initially designed by NASA (of course)(Oh thats another good question for when you are bored: Why does NASA invent everything?)(I think I know most of the answers :-P) and they sound great... haha How funky would you look.... I actually like the idea for us installers so we can wear them while we are installing.... (((I like brackets)))) (())
