Ohmygosh Ohmygosh Ohmygosh...

Obsessions. Are they unhealthy??? Are there ways to keep them from being unhealthy while still appreciating the object of your obsession???

Dictinary.com defines an obsession:
1. the domination of one's thoughts or feelings by a persistent idea, image, desire, etc.
2. A compulsive, often unreasonable idea or emotion.

Now I find myself feeling that I am not obsessed with the object, idea, image etc that is on my mind as it is not always on my mind. It does however bring me great joy, excitement and it is something I can share to a degree with others. There are many people on the internet with a much greater interest. I merely wonder, as no body in my social circle has the same obsession as me. Some understand and have their own fondness, but on the whole, most people just think it's silly, which causes me to act out in secret, which causes even more excitement.

To clarify, my obsession is a tv show...for those of you who know me...you know what it is.

So how do we define when something is becoming an unhealthy obsession and when it is merely a way of using up free time or even a way of interacting and sharing experiences with others???

To be honest I don't know. I know what is the most important and that is God. It does concern me when I find myself more excited by other things, but it's the way people are I think. We have a higher connection to the physical side of life.

In conclusion, Stargate rocks! Sam and Jack are my faves and I'm a bit of a nut.

    Very confronting...thanks Caro.

For those who don't feel like reading it...Those who persue pleasure will not find it...but those who persue God will see pleasure in all things and be able to appreciate what God has given them.

So thank God for the wonders he has given us, but do not thank the objects which bring you pleasure or you will be tempted away from the truth.

Oh and Steve (anonymous)...no more swearing in my comments!!! I will not just delete your comments but I'll take away your privelages!!!
