No Name Seems Worthy

Firstly Caro, no there was no draft saved...but thats ok...you all know there is a sky diving post coming soon, which guarantees at least one more blog, well mostlikely anyway.

Yay for a stargate question (I was right by the way...it was Jono and he answered my comment in an email :D). So with this question I was considering having a bt of fun and going on about how great some episode is when really it's just a joiner episode like Citizen Joe. But then I had an epiphany and decided I could actually go on about some of the best episodes and still call one my favourite...so here we go, in order of when they first appeared on tv...my most enjoyed episodes and why (my favourtie will however be left until the very end.

~ Season 2 - 1969: this episode is highly entertaining. It involved time travel (as the title sugests), hippy clothes and several funny quotes. Light on the military side of life and medium on the sciencey stuff...but quite funny.
~ Season 3 - Point of View: as a loyal sam/jack fan, who wouldn't love this episode??? An alternate Sam and Kawalski come through a mirror (which is a link to all universal realities) and this Sam happened to be married to (a now dead) Jack O'Neill. It's one of those gentle nudges towards the obvious attraction between the characters but still has both science and military technobabble in it.
~ Season 3 - Urgo: ever wondered what it's be like to have Dom Deluise in your head??? Well SG1 are implanted with a chip that makes their basic senses increase and seemingly all at the same time which cause some singing, lots of eating desserts and just general gags that couldn't really be incorporated otherwise.
~ Season 4 - Upgrades: SG1 try on some alien arm bands and suddenly they are faster stronger, more determined and hungrier. If anything from stargate were true, this would be on my list of things to do :D Some J/S shippy stuff (<-- jack/sam lovey dovey type girly stuff) but mostly it's revisited in my next favourite.
~ Season 4 - Divide and Conquer: A meeting between the president of USA and the Tokra high council is trying to be thwarted by the Gould, so they implant a set of instructions into various SGC and Tokra members in an attempt to kill one or both of them. During the testing to discover who has been compromised, Jack and Sam show positive as they didn't admit that during Upgrades while Sam is trapped behind a forcefield that Jack wouldn't leave her because he "cares about her, alot more that he's supposed to." Luckily Sam figures it out and they admit it (WOOOOOOOT!)
~ Season 4 - Window of Opportunity: Ever seen ground hog day???? Ever wondered what it'd be like??? Well jack and Tealc are stuck on the same day looping for approx 10 hours. At first they simply try to help make it stop, but a suggestion from Daniel (you could do whatever you want without consequences) leads to some highly amusing tv...jack and tealc playing golf into the stargate, Jack doing pottery, Jack riding a bike throught eh SGC and finally Jack resigning so he can kiss sam in front of General Hammond.
~ Season 7 - Grace: Same is trapped on the Promethius alone and with a concussion. The result is both humerous and enlightening as the small child and the various people she encounters are all in her head. There is shippy stuff in here too :P
~ Season 7 - Heros 1 & 2: A team is allowed in to video the SGC and interview some of it's staff (with limitations), but during an off world mission someone dies and they don't come back. It's an emotional one but very well done.
~ Season 8 - Moebius 1 & 2: SG1 go back in time 3000 years but change it so much that an alternate timeline SG1 must firstly be formed (a camera is hidden in a egyptian temple to show who was there and none of them are in the programme or have heard about it and they are all quite different people) and then sent through the gate to find Tealc. Initially they're not supposed to go back in time but while under heavy fire they have to. A cute shippy scene as Sam is a super nerd and Jack is...well Jack.
~ Season 9 - Ripple Effect: An alternate reality SG1 come through the stargate as they have altered the functions of a black hole. It turns out they did it intentionally to steal a ZPM. Hints at shippiness, but nothing too obvious. Very funny though having 20+ SG1's all slightly different in their own ways.
~ Season 10 - 200: Have not seen it as such, but on youtube there are subtle hints. A movie is being made and scenes are shown where they experiment with the storyline...long story short Sam and Jack get married.

Finally my favourite is from Season 8 and it's called Threads. It's a beautiful wrap up of the story and I'd have been happy with it as an ending. Sam finally goes fishing up at Jack's cabin witht he rest of the team, the gou'ald are dying out and all seem perfect....ly set up for Jack to retire or move on from teh SGC and for j/s to finally get together. There is also some drama in it as Daniel is dead AGAIN!!! He's struggling with whether he should choose asension or death (luckily he doesn't have to choose either), while the rest of SG1 are fighting their biggest battle yet. Sam's dad jacob dies, Sam tells Pete she can't marry him (tehehehehe, she loves jack and thats why) and it's really just a beautiful story on the whole.

Here ends my super-post :D

Window of Opportunity is a classic. It just doesn't get old. In fact the more I watch it the more I appreciate how funny it is. But then again, watching it with someone for the first time also makes it more exciting....Yay for getting Stevie hooked!!!

HAMMOND: We'll have that prototype probe shipped from M.I.T.
JACK: General, we don't need that probe.
    KAWALSKY: We don't?
    JACK: Nope. This'll do.
He picks up a box of tissues and heads to the gateroom. The gate
    dialling sequence begins
    HARRIMAN: Chevron 4, encoded!
HAMMOND: Care to explain this concept?
    HARRIMAN: Chevron 5, encoded!
    JACK: Jackson has allergies.
    KAWALSKY: I get it.
JACK: He'll know this came from me and not from someone, with all due respect, sir, like yourself.
HARRIMAN: Chevron 6, encoded! Chevron seven locked.
Jack goes up the ramp and throws the box of tissues through the
    event horizon
HARRIMAN: The object should reach final destination in five seconds, four, three, two, One.
    The wormhole disengages
    HAMMOND: Now what?
JACK: Now we wait. If Daniel's still around, he'll know what the message means.
SAMUELS: What if the aliens get it?
JACK: Well, they could be blowing their noses right now.

    Brilliant piece of dialogue... :D
